It is truly incredible how much can change in a year; how time can heal, and how time can also throw you curve balls and take you in dark holes. The odds are pretty high that 2017 will be a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs and twists and turns.
We have been back in Calgary for two weeks already and just realized that holiday season is just around the corner!! Yes Thanksgiving… and Christmas follows not much after. As much as we love Thanksgiving and Christmas, we have to admit, sometimes it’s all about the food.
One of the projects I took on was starting up Beenie Beads. The concept was inspired by my talented friends, Kim & Kim. Both of whom have their own jewelry businesses (Drift Designs & Purple Lotus). I have always loved their creative abilities and am happy to support and promote their amazingness!
Through being here we have realized what’s important to us and what’s worth chasing after. We appreciate simple things like hot water, and conveniences of a corner store, but also realize that we can absolutely make do without those things.
Today was a day FULL of smiles and laughter. So much so, our cheeks hurt!
Nathan and I, along with our friends Rob & Sarah went to visit Escuela Especial in Rivas, Nicaragua. The visit was inspired by our friend, Lisa Marie, who founded Children’s Global Alliance (CGA) and works with kids in 5 countries around the world.
I’ve been thinking a lot about this… what is my individual recipe for success? There must be one for everyone right? And just like spaghetti sauce, no two recipes are the same.
What’s your journey? Is it planned? Is it known? Or is it a bit blurry and uncertain? At the end of the day, as long as it feeds your soul and you are ok with it, that is all you need to know.
I think for the first time in a while, we feel like we are exactly where we want to be and not trying to figure out the next move. It’s a great feeling!
